In route planning or in routing mode, select a POI or place on the map and tap on the "Add Stop" button. The new intermediate point should be added to the route.
In routing mode, you can also click on the search button to find nearby gas stations, parking lots, places to eat, stores and ATMs that you can later on add them as intermediate stops:
